Gluten Free Udi’s French Toast
Gluten Free Udi’s French Toast is one of my favorite breakfasts to make for my family; it is a treat they truly enjoy!
I loved it when my mom made it for me as a child; I’m so glad it’s one of my kids favorite too!
Before we were diagnosed with gluten intolerance; this breakfast treat was a regular breakfast item on weekends. Smothered in melted butter and syrup; lightly sprinkled with powdered sugar was my favorite!
When I found out this was no longer going to be an option (because the breads over 10 years ago were not my favorite for anything; especially french toast!); I was bummed! I tried several of the brands available back then and just decided to avoid anything that required bread.
Now a days; we have several great bread options to choose from! Udi’s Gluten Free Bread is carried at our local Costco and is one of my kids’ favorites.
My favorite to use is Franz Gluten Free Bread; they have a cinnamon raisin bread that makes this french toast even better! Like a cinnamon roll!
There are so many ways you can top this treat!
- Butter & Maple Syrup with a Sprinkle of Powdered Sugar
- Butter & Fruit Syrup; like Boysenberry, Raspberry or Blackberry with Whipped Cream
- Bacon & Maple Syrup
- Peanut Butter & Raspberry Jam
- Fresh Sliced Strawberries & Whipped Cream
- Apple Pie Filling with a Sprinkle of Cinnamon
As you can imagine; there really isn’t a bad way to eat this treat! Makes any child smile and ask for more!
